Flue Gas Injection is an innovative technology designed to reduce the firebox temperature by taking a part of the flue gas from the stack and injecting it near the radiant tubes via specially designed nozzles located on the heater floor.

Furnace Improvements developed Flue Gas Injection (FGI) to address the following challenges:

  • High tube skin temperatures

  • Coking issues

  • Improvement in capacity without increasing radiant heat flux

Implementing this technology requires the following additional components:

  • FGI Fan (Induced Draft Fan)

  • Cold Flue Gas Ducting to Heater Floor
