Inclined Firing System * 

Most tube failures in fired heaters are due to high tube skin temperatures. Bad burner flames could lead to high tube skin temperatures through flame impingement in the tubes.

Furnace Improvements developed the Inclined Firing System technology in order to avoid flame impingement in tubes, taking care of the mechanical integrity of the same.

The burners are not installed in a complete vertical or horizontal position. The burners instead are rotated 5-10°. With this arrangement the heater will have the following advantages:

• Elimination of flame impingement
• Same heat capacity
• Increase of tube life
• Increase run length
