Most tube failures in fired heaters are due to high tube skin temperatures. Bad burner flames could lead to high tube skin temperatures, coking inside the tubes, flow distribution issues and several more problems affecting the performance of the heater.

Furnace Improvements developed the Inclined Firing System technology in order to avoid flame impingement in tubes. The burners are not installed in a complete vertical position. With this arrangement the heater will have the following advantages:

  • Elimination of flame impingement
  • Increase of tube life
  • Increase run length
  • With the same heat capacity
