Furnace Improvements Services was started in March 1996 in Sugar Land, TX with a mission to improve the performance of existing fired heaters in refineries and petrochemical plants. We started conducting engineering studies for the fired heaters. We also saw a need for training young engineers and operators on how to operate fired heaters and started offering courses.

After 12 years and completing more than 350 projects and studies, Furnace Improvements has developed into a full service engineering and consulting company dedicated to improve the performance of existing fired heaters and building better furnaces. Our client list includes Citgo, Conoco Phillips, Valero, Frontier and a number of other refineries. We have been growing at the rate of 35% per year with a vision to be the ultimate technology provider for fired heaters. We currently have personnel of more than 50 on our staff with offices in Sugar Land, TX and New Delhi, India.

Furnace Improvements has also been providing design of new fired heaters to end users. FIS is now supplying fired heaters on a turn key basis. Our designs are the most economical, efficient, and reliable. We ensure that key design parameters are not compromised and heaters perform to their full capacity from day one. Furnace Improvements can design and revamp all refinery fired heaters including Crude Heaters, Vacuum Heaters, Catalytic Reformer Heaters, and Coker Heaters. FIS is also working on several CO Boilers.
